Our client is seeking a skilled CloudOps Engineer with strong expertise in AWS cloud operations, cloud security, and infrastructure automation to ensure platforms remain secure, scalable, cost-efficient, and highly available.
This role is ideal for a proactive engineer who thrives on taking end-to-end ownership of cloud environments, embedding a security-first mindset, driving FinOps cost optimization, and automating complex workflows using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and scripting.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain enterprise cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability across multiple environments.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex cloud infrastructure, networking, and serverless workload issues.
- Implement operational best practices for cloud resilience, continuous reliability, and disaster recovery.
- Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud architectures following cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks.
- Identify, analyze, and remediate security vulnerabilities and audit findings using automated security tooling.
- Implement and manage IAM policies, network security controls (VPC routing, security groups, NACLs, VPNs), encryption, and centralized logging and monitoring.
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
- Build and maintain automation scripts and custom tools using Python (or equivalent languages) to streamline cloud operations, monitoring, and incident remediation workflows.
- Drive FinOps and cloud cost-optimization initiatives by analyzing resource utilization, reducing operational waste, and improving performance efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with application, DevOps, and security teams to elevate operational excellence for serverless and cloud workloads.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in cloud operations and infrastructure management.
- Strong hands-on experience with core AWS services, including EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AppSync, API Gateway, and AWS Lambda.
- Solid understanding of cloud networking fundamentals, including VPC architecture, routing tables, security groups, NACLs, and VPN connectivity.
- Proven experience in cloud security posture management, vulnerability remediation, and security incident response.
- Strong proficiency in using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python or an equivalent programming language.
- Experience implementing and maintaining comprehensive cloud monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve critical production and security issues under pressure.
- High degree of autonomy, accountability, and ability to take full ownership of cloud platforms.
- Clear communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
- Experience with cloud security platforms (e.g., GuardDuty, Wiz), container technologies (Docker, ECS, EKS), CI/CD pipelines, or AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Security Specialty) is a strong advantage.
