Area Sales Manager

As an Area Sales Manager, you will lead your Sales team and collaborate with distribution partner to deliver sustainable growth for the business. Location is based at Ninh Binh (Base province), Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Hung Yen, Ha Nam. Core relationships will be with internal; HQ Trade Marketing team, Sales team and external; Provincial Distributors, Wholesalers, Retailers. Frequent travel for market visit is required

Key Responsibilities

    Commercial & Territory Management
    • Deliver regional target and sustainable, long-term growth.
    • Ability to interpret market data, portfolio performance, and competitor movements to identify growth opportunities and risks.
    • Capability to translate regional priorities into monthly execution plans, initiatives, and practical course-correction actions.
    • Execute and rigorously track the agreed monthly plan, proposing initiatives to achieve assigned targets while ensuring the right regionallevel execution
    • Plan and manage territory operations by defining routes, outlet coverage, resource allocation, and execution follow-up to deliver area priorities.
    • Track and act on key commercial indicators such as volume, distribution, coverage, activation effectiveness, and territory growth to improve business outcomes.
    MKT resources & Cycle plans deployment
    • Efficiently deploy allocated resources within provinces/channels/volume classes, monitoring results for optimal outcomes.
    • Proactively propose adjustments and solutions for effective deployment of investment resources, activation programme, brand programme ensuring excellent execution and high compliance levels.
    • Drive innovation in the development of trade programs to maintain a competitive advantage in the respective area.
    Distributor, Partner & Stakeholder Management
    • Oversee the management of key distributors in the respective areas to ensure progress to the agreed strategic direction, align business priorities and execution standards.
    • Monthly PD (Province Distributor) visits, supporting Regional Sales Manager in business performance reviews with action plans to deliver target, expand territory, enabling sustainable growth. Rigorous documentation of information cascade to PD (Province Distributor)
    • Use commercial data and market insight to support negotiation, demand planning, issue resolution, and partner accountability.
    • Lead the sales team and trade partners to achieve assigned targets, including volume, distribution and etc at the area level.
    Team Leadership & Capability Building
    • Set clear priorities and performance expectations for Sales Supervisors and Sales Representatives to deliver area targets.
    • Coach the field team through market visits, feedback, and follow-up actions to improve selling execution and team effectiveness.
    • Build team capability by identifying skill gaps, supporting development actions, and ensuring consistent performance evaluation.
    • Keep the team aligned with company priorities, ways of working, and expected standards to sustain performance over time.

Requirements

    • 5–10 years of experience in Sales, Trade Marketing, Commercial, or related fields.
    • Previous experience as an Area Sales Manager or equivalent field sales leadership role in a sizeable FMCG company is preferred.
    • Diverse commercial exposure across industries or rotations within Marketing, Trade Marketing, Sales, or related commercial functions is an advantage.
    • Strong performance and potential record
    • Exposure to distributor-based sales operations or complex commercial projects such as route-to-market, market expansion, or distribution model improvement is an advantage.
    • Good English communication and proficiency in office productivity tools, including presentation and data preparation.
    • High learning agility and readiness to adapt to a dynamic field sales environment.
