The Role
Beyond mere process facilitation, the Senior Scrum Master acts as an Agile Coach at the team and tribe levels. You are responsible for engineering high-performance environments, dismantling systemic organizational obstacles, and ensuring that every technical effort translates directly into strategic business value for global logistics and maritime stakeholders.
1. Driving Performance & Business Value (Value Delivery)
- Partner with Product Owners to transform product visions into actionable roadmaps, ensuring the Backlog is prioritized based on ROI (Return on Investment) and strategic business impact.
- Establish and monitor data-driven performance metrics (Velocity, Cycle Time, Lead Time, and Say/Do ratio) to guide objective decision-making.
2. Change Management & Systems Thinking
- Identify and resolve process-related and structural bottlenecks that hinder the progress of Squads and Tribes, moving beyond "band-aid" fixes to systemic solutions.
- Lead advanced Retrospectives focused on shifting mindsets and fostering a culture of Autonomy and psychological safety.
3. Strategic Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a strategic liaison between technical teams and senior stakeholders to negotiate resources, project scope, and delivery timelines.
- Ensure absolute transparency regarding progress, dependencies, and risks from the Squad level up to the Executive Board.
4. Mentorship & Capability Building
- Coach and mentor team members on Agile/Lean principles, moving them from "doing" Agile to "being" Agile.
- Rigorously uphold the Definition of Done (DoD) to maintain the highest standards of product quality and technical excellence.
